Youth Day Implementations inspire 1000 young people with IT and Financial literacy

This Youth month, Junior Achievement South Africa in partnership with the HM Pitje Foundation empowered over 1000 learners across three schools in Soshanguve, Gauteng.  The three participating schools included Meetseng Primary School, Kutung Primary School and Baleseng High School.

The learners in grades 7 – 9, received financial literacy training through JA’s More than Money Programme and I.T Skills thanks to the IBM Skills Build Programme.  The IBM Skills Build programme saw learners gain skills in Project Management, information technology, learning to write emails and mindfulness.

“The youth month commemoration, which commemorates the class of 1976, saw young people upskilled with soft skills, preparing them for the Future World of Work”. Financial Literacy and I.T skills are important skills, if we are to move our young people forward , says Bonga Khumalo, JA South Africa’s National Programmes Manager.
