Thank You Citi Foundation, creating Pathways to Progress

For more than nine years in South Africa and 30  years with Junior Achievement (JA), Citi and the Citi Foundation have partnered with JA to ensure pathways to opportunity and upward mobility for young people around the world.

“JA South Africa is grateful to the Citi Foundation for its investment in South Africa’s youth. The partnership has seen Citi funding JA South Africa’s flagship Company of the Year competition, empowering hundreds of young people with the skillset and mindset to see entrepreneurship as a viable option, says Nelo Spies, Junior Achievement South Africa, Executive Director.

This partnership has over three decades seen, Citi and the Citi Foundation have invested more than $50 million in both large-scale and targeted JA initiatives at every level. In addition, long-term infrastructure investments in technology have enabled JA to deploy systems that are aligning a variety of stakeholders, including NGOs, governments, the private sector, school systems, and youth constituents.
