Junior Achievement South Africa in partnership with Marsh McLennan Companies is empowering learners with life long financial literacy skills in Gauteng and the Western Cape. In the month of May 2023, over 500 youth have been exposed to JA’s More Than Money in a Day Programme.
The JA More Than Money in a Day programme takes learners through practical but fun money game challenge, that teaches learners through play on concepts like earning, saving, spending and donating.
By familiarizing learners with key financial literacy concepts through play , learners get to understand the importance of how their decisions impact their financial standing, thereby thinking of alternative ways to financial management.
“According to JA’s Impact report 50 % of JA alumni are better savers than 30 % who are non JA alumni. The impact of our work will only be felt once learners encounter real life financial decisions.
The programme implemented across four schools in the month of May is setting up these learners to better manage their finances, says Bonga Khumalo, Junior Achievement South Africa’s National Programmes Manager.
