Junior Achievement South Africa is excited to kick off the JA flagship Enterprise Programme in partnership with Toyota. The Enterprise Programme is designed for grade 10 and 11 learners, which upon completion will see them running and managing their own small businesses. To date over 30 learners from Masiqhakaze Secondary School in Tembisa, Gauteng have gained theoretical entrepreneurial and practical skills in entrepreneurship.
“This is a very good, unique, exciting programme, not only does it expose learners to entrepreneurial theory, it also gives them a platform to apply the theory by coming up with their own functioning businesses” says Bonga Khumalo, JA South Africa’s National Programmes Manager.
Learners who complete the JA Enterprise Programme are eligible to participate in JA’s annual Company of the Year competition themed Breaking Barriers. Teams winning the provincial title will make their way to the national competition where they will compete against eight other teams from different provinces, each team will present their business to a panel of judges and the winning team will proceed to compete in the regional finals which will be taking place in Rwanda.
