JA SOUTH AFRICA AND PMIEF PARTNERSHIP EXPOSES LEARNERS TO GREATER VARIETY OF CAREER OPTIONS
JA South Africa is proud to announce the launch of the PMIEF Enterprise programme. The programme which integrates of the Enterprise Programme and Project Management is set to reach 100 learners across, Gauteng, Kwazulu-Natal and the Western Cape. The programme which is geared to grade 10-11 learners equips learners with the necessary skills for business and project management. Added to the programme content, learners are given an opportunity to engage qualified project managers from PMI. The programme which kicked off on the 6th March is still in progress and is set to run until 15th May 2021.
To date we have reached 32 learners from Gauteng, 45 learners from the Western Cape and 46 registered from Kwazulu-Natal. The feedback received on the programme is extremely positive and we excited to see how project management coupled with entrepreneurship really provides learners with exposure to more career options, says Michael Cekiso, National Programmes Manager at JA South Africa

The PMIEF programme has helped me in many ways. It made me gain a better understanding of the business world and what it is going to be like one day when I leave school. This is what Zaida, the programme facilitator from the Western Cape had to say: “The Business Entrepreneurship programmes are always exciting and very interactive to facilitate. This year in particular the groups (companies) are very competitive. Most of the learners have no or very little knowledge of the vast career options available with good Project Management Skill, the PMI component plays a vital role in giving the learners more insight into how important project management is in all aspects of business and all careers. The PMI virtual session works very well for the learners as it gives learners the virtual training experience, which is an essential skill they need exposure to. Overall, the learners are doing exceptionally well, with great products, marketing strategies and the opportunity to do great sales totals.”
