JA South Africa and SABIC’s Lights of our future partnership is a chemistry that matters
Junior Achievement South Africa and SABIC are inspiring youth and transforming lives of over 500 young people in grade 10-11 from Western Cape, South Africa. The global partnership aiming to reach 11,000 students in 22 countries across six regions in South Africa empowers youth through JA’s Enterprise Programme whilst incorporating Design Thinking.
JA’s Enterprise Programme focuses on what is needed establish and manage a small business. “Being able to complement the two disciplines we are not just teaching the basics of entrepreneurship, but ensuring learners also have the tools to be innovative in the fast-changing world of work and think outside the box as they develop critical thinking in keeping with SABIC’s Lights of our Future initiative, science and technology pillars” says Nelly Mofokeng, Junior Achievement South Africa’s Managing Director.
The SABIC Lights of our Future is SABIC’s signature global initiative that engages JA students in initiatives that enable them to develop critical thinking, consider the global landscape, and improve their communities in environmental protection, science and technology education, water, and sustainable agriculture and lastly health and wellness, which are mapped to the UN Global Goals for Sustainable Development.
