Appointed as JA South Africa Finance Director in 2018, Collen Ngundu oversees all aspects of our financial management and administration, including the development and management of budgets, preparation of financial statements and reporting to the board and donors.
Ngundu brings to JA South Africa nearly two decades of financial management experience in the private, public and development sectors, with a focus on Grants Management, Operations Management, Compliance and developing policies and procedures to improve performance and productivity.
Ngundu has held several financial management positions with incremental responsibilities for multi-million dollar budgets on diverse regional developmental programmes, working with diverse donors that include: Global Fund, Swiss Agency for Development Corporation (SDC), Australian Government-Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and DANIDA. He managed all administrative, legal, and compliance aspects; financial and fiscal management; risk management; budgets; tracking and MERL components.
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a Major in Accounting, from Solusi University, Bulawayo Zimbabwe. In 2017, Ngundu completed a postgraduate diploma: Public Financial Management, through the University of London (CeFiMS, SOAS). Ngundu is currently studying for a MSc Public Financial Management.
